Thor and Captain America Weren’t Allowed On the ‘Endgame’ Press Tours Together. Here’s Why!
Avengers: Endgame had the most entertaining press tour of the year. The mega blockbuster superhero film had a press tour kickstarting from India where the beginning of the end was hosted. Over the course of a few weeks, the cast of the film covered stops including London and China before the hugely successful premiere in LA. All eyes were on the Avengers but what we failed to notice was that two particular Avengers weren’t on tour together. Thor and Captain America were kept apart for most of the press tour. Turns out, that was intentional.
In a recent interview with Variety, both Chris’ admitted that while they work amazingly well together as the ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’, they aren’t all that productive when paired together off screen. Their onscreen bond translates outside of work and if they are left together, its all play and no work. Talking about their brotherly bond, Hemsworth said that they are pretty notorious.
Chris Evans who portrayed quite the disciplinary as Steve Rogers, admitted the two wouldn’t get much done had they been left alone together.
There’s more where that adorable bond comes from. Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans have previously spoken about how much fun they had getting together over 10 years ago. Evans even went ahead and declared he’d love to be a part of a buddy cop flick with Hemsworth. Now, that’s something we’d like to see!
“I think they wouldn’t pair us up on this press tour, because we just spend the whole time screwing around and none of it is on topic.” – Chris Hemsworth
“We had too much fun together, and truly like kids in school, we were separated because we weren’t getting s— done.” – Chris Evans
The Endgame cast had some amazing moments off screen in interviews, press junkets and on red carpets. Apart from the Chris duo, we absolutely adored the bond between Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Downey Junior and Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo and Paul Rudd. With a cast so cool, there were enough entertaining moments in their interactions and fans wouldn’t mind watching a separate film based solely on them just hanging out together.
While we don’t hear of the stars working on new projects together we can certainly look forward to watching two Asguardians team up soon. MIB: International is coming up soon starring Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth (Valkyrie and Thor). Check out the first glimpse of Agent H and Agent M here:
