Xiaomi has been developing the Redmi Note 8 as confirmed by Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing on Weibo, stating that it will be released soon and that it will be more powerful than previous models.

Other phones releasing this year that are going to feature a 64-megapixel camera are by Realme and Samsung. Realme’s device is based on quad camera setup with AI while Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 64-megapixel sensor that is said to deliver brighter images in low-light conditions.

Redmi had announced their partnership with MediaTek and the Redmi Note 8 will feature the new Helio G90T for a better gaming performance. At an event in Dehli, the Helio G90T outperformed the Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G with three percent and seven percent increase in AnTuTu performance scores, respectively. The MediaTek Helio G90 and Helio G90T both have an octa-core CPU that consists of ARM Cortex-A76 and Cortex-A55 cores at a maximum clock speed of 2.05GHz.
