NFS Heat Studio App Adds Augmented Reality

EA had unveiled the next title in the Need For Speed franchise, Need For Speed: Heat, last month. While preparing for the official release, EA has added a new feature to the companion app, Need For Speed Heat Studio. The companion app was launched last month and now it features AR capabilities which can allow players to showcase their creations.

A major part of the Need For Speed experience is the car customization. The car customization will become even more advanced with the augmented reality features. After customizing a car, players can drop it in real-world environments such as their home, street, and garage and check them out in even more detail. The environment integration features in the app will help in blending the car with its surroundings as much as possible using elements like reflections and shadows.

The new AR feature will also offer scaling capabilities. Players can increase or decrease the size of the car to make it look like a life-sized model or a small toy car. The cars can even be rotated, allowing users to show off their creations from different angles. Using the rotation and scaling features, car customization can become even more versatile. The companion app also allows users to share their augmented reality snapshots on social media.

The Need For Speed Heat Studio app is available to download for free and does not have any in-app purchases. It also seamlessly integrates to a player’s game account, which can allow them to share their car customizations with the game after it launches in November.
