OPPO Reno 3 Pro With 44MP Dual Selfie Camera May Launch In India In February
Oppo Reno is a line of Android smartphones manufactured by Oppo. Its flagships Oppo Reno, Reno 10x Zoom, and Reno 5G were officially announced on April 10, 2019, while the midrange Reno Z was on May 30, 2019. The Reno was launched on April 24, 2019 in Zurich, Switzerland. The Oppo Reno lineup was followed by the Reno2, which was launched in India on August 28, 2019, and the Reno Ace which was released in October 2019.
Oppo previewed the 10x Zoom’s camera system in February. After the announcement on April 10 2019, Oppo also revealed a 5G variant at Swisscom’s 5G network media event. It will share its battery and chipset with the 10x Zoom, cost around US$1000 and presumably use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X50 modem. The 5G model will also be the first smartphone officially compatible with the NReal Light AR glasses
OPPO’s Reno 3 series, that included the OPPO Reno 3 and the OPPO Reno 3 Pro, was unveiled last year in December in its home country of China. Now, according to a report, the OPPO Reno 3 Pro is making its way to India and is expected to launch as early as February. But unlike the Reno 3 Pro that was launched in China, the Indian variant is expected to have a slightly different feature set.
For starters, the Indian Reno 3 Pro is expected to have a dual punch-hole camera setup that will consist of the world’s first 44MP selfie shooter and a secondary 2MP depth sensor for portraits. The Reno 3 Pro that was launched in China featured only a single 32MP sensor.
Youtuber, Mrwhosetheboss, recently posted the picture of an unknown phone that he said would be the first phone in the world to have a 44MP dual-camera setup at the front. The icons that can be seen in the image he shared definitely seem to ColorOS’s. Putting two and two together, this is most probably the OPPO Reno 3 Pro that will debut in markets other than China, including India.
Another stark difference seems to be the display. The display of the Reno 3 Pro launched in China has curved edges. But that doesn’t seem to be the case with the global Reno 3 Pro as the image clearly shows a flat display. Another difference that is expected with the Reno 3 Pro to be launched in India will be the lack of 5G support since India doesn’t have any functional 5G networks. The Chinese variant was powered by the Snapdragon 765G processor that has an integrated 5G modem. At the moment it isn’t known if the same processor will make it to India.
The Reno 3 Pro launched in China has a 6.5-inch FullHD+ AMOLED panel and is protected with Gorilla Glass 5. The 765G processor is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone has a 4,025mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. It runs on Android 10 with ColorOS 7 on top.
