Starting Sept. 16, those with eligible devices can upgrade to iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14.

We didn’t get new iPhones this week, but Apple’s next-gen mobile operating system arrives for existing smartphones (and iPads) on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

Starting tomorrow, those with eligible devices can upgrade to iOS 14, iPadOS 14, watchOS 7, and tvOS 14, Apple CEO Tim Cook announced today.

Unveiled at WWDC earlier this year, the OS upgrades have been in public betas for several weeks now. Among the additions to iOS are home screen widgets, an app library, and less intrusive call notifications. iPadOS gets similar upgrades, in addition to some Apple Pencil-specific features.

Apple’s watchOS 7 brings handwashing detection, dance workouts, and sleep tracking features to the Apple Watch. On tvOS 14, look for multi-user support for games, new controller support, picture-in-picture, and more.

Your devices should alert you when the updates are ready to download, but you can also check for updates in the settings menu.
