Next Animal Crossing Update Brings May Day Madness And More

Nintendo has revealed what’s coming in the next Animal Crossing: New Horizons update. It’s arriving in just a couple of days and will bring May Day tickets, International Museum Day fun, and Reese and Cyrus’ new annual tradition, plus more.
What can we expect from the new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update?
If you were dutifully playing New Horizons last year, you’ll know what to expect from this update. Rather enticingly, though, Nintendo says there will be some twists this time around, so it won’t be entirely the same as last time. Here’s a rundown of everything that’s on its way to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in the next update.
May Day
As part of May Day, Nintendo is distributing May Day Tickets to all New Horizons players. These tickets will allow you to tour a “rather interesting island” starting from April 29th and running until May 7th. The tickets are single-use, so make sure you get everything you need while you’re there!
International Museum Day
May 18th is International Museum Day, and you know what that means. Everyone’s favorite owl Blathers is hosting a Stamp Rally so you can wander around his wonderful museum and check out exhibits in exchange for stamps. This one runs from May 18th until May 31st.
Wedding Season
After Reese and Cyrus’ marriage last year, they’ve decided to make wedding photos an annual tradition. You’ll travel to Harvey’s Island and help them take some cute photos, and of course, there will be wedding-themed goodies available too. Wedding Season runs from June 1st to June 30th.
As well as all this fun stuff, there will also be plenty of new seasonal items available from Nook Shopping during the months of May and June. These include items themed around Mother’s Day, as well as cheese rolling (a British spring bank holiday special) and plenty more. Do also remember that fish and other critters will change over when the month changes to May, so make sure you’ve got what you need.
If you need to update your game, just head to the Switch’s main menu and press the Plus button while hovering over Animal Crossing: New Horizons. From there, select Software Update. If you need to update, you’ll be prompted to, but if your game is up to date, you’re good to go. The update lands on April 28th, and you’ll be able to download it for free if you’ve got the game.
