Halo Infinite Scorpion Gun Glitch Being Removed in Season 2
The Halo Infinite Scorpion Gun glitch is being removed in Season 2, removing the ability to pick up a secret handheld Scorpion Cannon and likely impacting speedrunning efforts.
Things have been going pretty well for Halo Infinite lately. Season 2 is arriving early next month and co-developer Certain Affinity has announced that it will be “further evolving” the latest game in the Halo franchise. Speedrunners, however, are about to have a bad day really soon: the Scorp glitch is being removed.
The Halo Infinite Scorpion Gun glitch is a glitch where players can get their hands on an invisible weapon hidden near the start of the game’s campaign as seen in the above video. This weapon is essentially a handheld version of the cannon from the Scorpion Tank.
As one might expect, this is a hilariously overpowered weapon. My guess is that this was put here for developers to use in testing and it was overlooked after launch. That’s going to change real soon, though — this glitch is being removed in a little more than two weeks.
Why is the Halo Infinite Scorpion Gun Glitch Being Removed?
No reason was given for the removal of the Halo Infinite Scorpion Gun glitch, but we do know that it’s coming.
“Heads up for speedrunners and achievement hunters – the tank gun glitch in campaign will be fixed in Season 2,” read a tweet from Halo Senior Community Managed John “Unyshek” Junyszek.
