Horizon Forbidden West Update Adds Pride Face Paint
By A new Horizon Forbidden West update is live, and it’s bringing a fun new face paint option for protagonist Aloy. There are also a whole bunch of crash and progression fixes that should make your experience in the Forbidden West a bit smoother.
What’s in this new Horizon Forbidden West update?
The most important element of this new Horizon Forbidden West update is the Mark of Pride face paint, which is intended to celebrate LGBTQ+ identities. It marks Aloy’s face with colors related to the Pride flag, so now you can wear your support of LGBTQ+ folks proudly while you’re exploring the Forbidden West.
Like previous updates before it, this one also fixes a whole bunch of crashes and progression issues. The Hunter Merchant in the Faro’s Tomb quest has been giving some players grief by vanishing, for example, and that’s been fixed. Other fixes include audio data points being cut off and camera issues aplenty. Make sure to take a look at the full patch notes to see everything that’s changed, but beware of spoilers!
Considering how easy it seems to have been for some companies to mess up their support for Pride and other causes in the past, even a small thing like a new face paint option could be seen as a pretty big win for Horizon Forbidden West. Of course, it’s not quite as far as Guerrilla and Sony could have gone, but the paint looks pretty great and Aloy’s rocking it, so there’s that, at least.
