Honor Band 5i, Honor MagicWatch 2 To Launch In India Alongside Honor 9X

Honor recently announced that it’ll launch its first smartphone in India after a hiatus. Now, along with the Honor 9X, Honor is also releasing the Honor MagicWatch 2 and the Honor Band 5i on 14th January in India. The brand took to Twitter to confirm the same.

Honor MagicWatch 2

The Honor MagicWatch 2 was announced back in November 2019 alongside the Honor V30 series. The MagicWatch 2 comes in two case sizes (like the Huawei GT 2) – a 46mm case with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and a 42mm case with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display. But the smaller one adopts a more minimalistic design as the bezel isn’t etched with numbers, unlike the 46mm one. The watch case is graced with two buttons on the right-hand side with which users can interact with the UI.

The smartwatch is powered by Huawei’s Kirin A1 chip and comes loaded with a host of fitness features. It supports a total of 15 fitness modes that support running, cycling, rowing and triathlons. Apart from just tracking activities, it also has 13 indoor and outdoor running courses that can assist athletes in levelling up their game.

The watch also has 5ATM certification that makes it suitable to take it for swims. The comprehensive feature list of the watch also includes heart-rate tracking, sleep tracking and stress monitoring. The Honor MagicWatch 2 is priced at CNY 1,099 (~INR 11,000) for the 42mm variant and CNY 1,199 (~ INR 12,000) for the 46mm variant.

Honor Band 5i

Honor Band 5i is a more affordable version of the Honor Band 5 that was launched in India last year. The Band 5i is a fitness tracker that has a 0.96-inch coloured touchscreen with a capacitive home button. Like the Band 5, the Band 5i too boasts of heart-rate tracking and sleep tracking features.

A marquee feature of the Band 5i is its USB plug-in and charge design that eliminates the need of a separate charger like most other fitness trackers, including Xiaomi’s Mi Band series. When the 7-to-9 day touted battery life reaches its end, users can simply remove a strap and plug the band in a USB Type-A port to replenish it.

The band also features 5ATM certification that’s found on bands like the Xiaomi Mi Band 3i and the Samsung Galaxy Fit e. The Honor Band 5i was priced at CNY 159 (~INR 1,700) in China.

Both the Honor MagicWatch 2 and the Honor Band 5i will be available on Amazon India.
