The Winkeltje: The Little Shop 1.0 update has finally arrived, adding employees, end-game storage, and more to the adorable shop-keeping sim.
I first got to play Winkeltje: The Little Shop nearly three years ago — it turns out to be a delightful shop-keeping simulator, albeit a little rough around the edges. Now, this cool little indie game has finally crossed the finish line and released its 1.0 update.
What’s New in the Winkeltje: The Little Shop 1.0 Update?
The first major addition in the Winkeltje: The Little Shop 1.0 Update is the addition of employees. You’re no longer stuck running your shop all by your lonesome self.
Another new addition that is most welcome is upgradeable end-game storage. You can now add a basement hatch to your shop, saving a ton of floor space while giving you a large increase in storage capacity. This is an especially important addition: holding onto large quantities of items helps you ride out any temporary price increases.
You’ll also be able to make your shop look much nicer — a total of 39 new decorations and 49 new Pedestal decorations have been added, giving you even more options to glow up your shop. You can change up your shop’s floor, too, with some new options, although some of them will only be unlocked as you progress.
There’s one other item I’d like to highlight — a bullet point that is quite possibly my favorite patch note item ever:
Customers - Renamed Tetta -> Letta, because apparently the former means "boob" in Italian.
This update also adds new Objectives, new Achievements, and substantial performance improvements; you can read about all of the new features and changes in the full Winkeltje: The Little Shop 1.0 Update patch notes.
I had a lot of fun playing Winkeltje all those years ago and I’m looking forward to diving in once again. If you haven’t yet played this great shopkeep sim, you can buy Winkeltje: The Little Shop for PC via Steam at the price of $12.74 or your regional equivalent, a 15% launch week discount that lasts until April 29, 2022.
