The developers at Daedalic Entertainment have announced that the Lord of The Rings: Gollum release date has been pushed back by “a few months”, meaning that as of now, there is no release date in sight.

Earlier this year, in May, Lord of the Rings: Gollum was set to release on September 1, 2022. While fans of the Lord of The Rings trilogy were thrilled at the news, it was also announced that it would only be released on that set day for PC, Playstation, and Xbox while Nintendo Switch users would have to wait a little while longer to experience Middle-Earth. It has now been confirmed that the game will not release whatsoever in September of 2022 and that the release date has been pushed back by “a few months.”

The developers made a statement via Twitter, which said,

"in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of the Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months. We will update you with an exact timing in the near future."

Currently, at the time of writing this, there is now no set release date for the game. A gameplay trailer was released earlier this month, which showcased the well-known character Gollum climbing, sneaking, and slithering around the depths, which gave fans a peek at what to expect. This is not the first time the release has been delayed, as the game was announced in 2019 initially, and was set to launch in 2021. It is unclear if Gollum will arrive within 2022, but one can only hope. Since the devs stated it will be delayed by a few months, it leaves a heaping pile of questions in the gamer’s heads. It is still possible that the game could release prior to 2023, but only time will tell.
