Earth Defense Force 5 is Coming to PC

Publisher D3 has announced a PC release for Earth Defense Force 5. The Steam store page for EDF5 is live right now, but sadly there is no concrete release date or price just yet. It’s expected to be released some day this month. Check out the PC announcement trailer below:

Earth Defense Force 5 was originally released back in December 2017 for the PlayStation 4 in Japan. The worldwide release was a full year later in December 2018.

The Earth Defense Force series is well-known for its insanity. The franchise has historically forsaken stable framerates and high-fidelity graphics in pursuit of filling the screen and levels with more and more monsters for players to fight. EDF takes a lot of inspiration from old Japanese Kaiju movies, and involves players fighting a host of monsters, ranging from gigantic insects to full on Godzilla-esque monsters.

The PlayStation 4 version of Earth Defense Force 5 is currently priced at a massive Rs. 4,162 on the PlayStation Store, but at the time of publishing, PS Plus subscribers get a 60% discount, bringing the price down to Rs. 1,664.
